Thinking of You

Delicate Forest

Today I am sharing a super simple card using the Delicate Forest stamp set available in the January-April 2024 mini catalog. This fun silhouette stamp set is great for a thinking of you, a sympathy card or just an encouraging card for a friend in need. I started with a Basic Black card base and added a layer of Boho Blossom.

I stamped the silhouette flower with Memento Black ink on a 2 x 4.75″ panel of Basic White and mounted it on a piece of Basic Black that measures 1/8″ larger. I stamped the greeting with Memento Black ink on a panel of 3/4 x 3″ piece of Basic White and used my paper snips to cut the end at an angle.

I attached the greeting to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals and added a little bit of Black dot bling, but of course you can used whatever colors you want and add bling to match. That is one of the great things about our stamping accessories, there is a color to match everything! Happy Stamping!

Fun with Metallic Enamel Effects

Well we made it to Friday, yahoo! It has been a week. I guess some weeks are just busier than others and I think we will all agree that no matter how busy life gets there is always time for crafting. Today I am sharing a card I made using our Metallic Enamel Effect. These amazing bottles are so great for adding a special touch to your crafting project. The only real trick is patience. You will need to let them dry completely before you assemble.

It may be difficult to see how beautiful they really are with just a photos, so I suggest you order a set today and give them a try. I admit I was a bit impatient and perhaps I did not let mine dry completely. It still looks good, just some of my dots may be a little more flat.

I chose a Starry Sky card base and added another Starry Sky layer that I dry embossed using the new Layered Floral embossing folder. This is by far my favorite embossing folder. I choose to accent the smaller flowers with a dot of the silver Metallic Enamel Effects, again you will need to let them dry completely! No problem right? We can just move onto another crafting project while it dries.

Metallic Enamel Effects

I stamped my greeting with Starry Sky ink and although I did not use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach my floral layer, I do think that would be a nice added touch. Give it a try and let me know how it turns out. Happy Stamping!

Be of Good Courage

Happy Stamping everyone. Wow yesterday’s weather was a little scary. We had quite a bit of ice here in St. Louis. I would so prefer snow, but luckily I could work from home and did not have to go out in the mess. Kuddos to all our nurses, doctors, and emergency responders who always brave the weather to keep us healthy and safe.

Today I thought I would share a card I created using the Painted Posies 3 D Embossing folder and the Courage and Faith stamp set, both in the annual 2023-2024 catalog. I began with a Bo Ho Blossom blue card base and added a layer of Starry Sky. I love how these two blues pair together.

I embossed the Starry Sky panel with the Painted Posies 3-D embossing folder using the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine. I then added it to the card front. I stamped the greeting from Courage and Faith on a panel of Basic White CS with Starry Sky ink and then cropped it using the new Perennial Postage dies featured in the January 2024 mini catalog.

Painted Posies Embossing Folder

Sometimes letting our designer series paper or our amazing embossing folders do all the work makes for a clean and simple card that is fantastically fun. Happy Stamping!

Hills of Tuscany Meet Meandering Meadows

I just love it when our stamp sets and paper coordinate and today’s cards is a perfect match. I took a piece of the Meandering Meadows Designer Series paper (online exclusive product) and paired it with the new Hills of Tuscany stamp set featured in the January 2024 mini catalog and I have to admit, I like the results. I was not initially going to get this set, but my daughter thought it would be cool and she was right!

Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper

I chose my designer series paper from the pack and cut it to be 4 x 5 -1/4. I then stamped the house and tree images from the directly to the designer series paper. I stamped the house with Cajun Craze, the roof with Gray Granite, the trees with Garden Green and the pebbles with Early Espresso Ink.

The greeting is stamped with Memento Black and then I added the panel to a Petal Pink card front. I love how the Petal Pink coordinates perfectly with the shaded sky in this paper. This paper pack is an online exclusive and coordinates with the Garden Meadows Bundle.

I hope this card inspires you. I know the artist who created this paper has certainly inspired me. Happy Stamping my friends. Stop back on Friday to check out our Favorite Things Friday series.

Seaside Bay-You’re In My Thoughts!

If you are a bird person then you are going to love today’s card. If not, maybe you are seaside bay person, either way today’s card is a fun summertime card. My card base begins with Balmy Blue and then I added a layer of Night of Navy. I created my beach scene for Mama bird and her babies on a 3-3/4 x 5 panel of white.

To create my beach scene I used our Blending Brushes and a variety of inks. For the water, I used Balmy Blue and Azure Afternoon. I added some white waves using a blender pen and some White Craft ink. The sand was blended with our new color Pecan Pie. The sky was again a mixture of Balmy Blue and Azure Afternoon.

I colored the bird family with a mixture of Stampin’ Blend markers and some watercolor pencils. I stamped the detailed sand dots using the Pecan Pie ink. The greeting is from the new stamp set Seasonal Branches. We have such a great spread of coordinating colors that makes creating fun scene super easy. Go ahead and give it a try, you might be surprised at how easy it is. Happy Stamping!

Playing In the Rain-Rainy Days!

Rainy days are always better when shared with a friend or at least a good book. Remember the old saying Rain rain go away come again another day? I think that must have been when I was younger and wanted to go swimming. Now, here in St. Louis we could use a little rain.

This cute little fox from the Playing in the Rain stamp set looks like he is well on his way to a friends house. I think the tiny raindrop stamp really creates a nice effect for this card.

For my card base I used the new In-color Boho Blossom and layered a panel of black on top. My Basic White panel measures 3-3/4 x 5 and I added some Boho Blossom ink to the edges of my greeting panel with a Blending Brush. The umbrella is colored with the Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend and Mr. Fox is colored with some of our watercolor pencils and a blender pen.

So if your day is filled with cloudy skies and raindrops, I hope it is also filled with joy. Let’s be like Mr. Fox, he doesn’t seem like he has any worries at all.

Playing in the Rain-Favorite Things Friday!

Here is another card that features our new Azure Afternoon cardstock. I have to say I am really loving this shade of blue. Fun fact, one of my favorite things is a rainy day. Not all of the time like in Seattle, but I love me a good summer thunderstorm, and like the card says, rainy days are better when you share them with someone special!

This is a clean and simple card and it did not take much time at all to create the panel of faux Designer Series Paper. I figured just because the Playing in the Rain DSP is retired doesn’t mean we cannot create our own. I stamped the umbrellas with Memento Black ink and colored them in with a few Stampin’ Blend Combo markers. The greeting is also stamped in Memento black and I used the coordinating dies to cut one umbrella as an extra pop on my greeting. With the Blending Brush and some Azure Afternoon ink, I added a bit of color to my greeting.

Super fun, and simple. I mounted my faux DSP to a layer of Azure Afternoon and then to a layer of Black. Isn’t it amazing how just one layer can tie all the colors together. In this case it just happened to be a Basic Black layer, but it did the trick and soften the card. Have fun creating….Happy Stamping!

Hope Anchors the Soul!

Sorry it has been a minute since I have posted. Sorry we have been doing a lot of traveling this month with the passing of my mother-in-law, Connie. Spending time in my craft room these past 10 days just was not an option. I do think however that It is so amazing how crafting can be such a source of therapy and healing, at least for me. So I am back and hope to continue posting regularly. Thanks for your patience!

While Connie and I did agree on a lot of things, swimming was not one of them. She was afraid of the water. While she was fine looking at the ocean or watching us swim, the water was just not her thing. So while she would enjoy today’s card, she would remind us all that she does not like the water.

#blessedbycards

Hope really does anchor the soul and I love the new Azure Afternoon color for creating the perfect ocean scene, or sky scene as well. I layered a piece of Crumb Cake on my Azure Afternoon card base and used Crumb Cake ink for the sand and Azure Afternoon for the ocean. The seashells are from Seaside Bay and are stamped with the new Pecan Pie ink. I used Night of Navy for my greeting, which by the way is from the Hope and Prayer stamp set in the annual catalog.

This is a pretty simple card and even if you have not done much blending, this is a good card to practice as I only used the two colors. I find coloring and sponging to be very relaxing, perhaps you will too! Happy Stamping!
