Bitter Sweet

Just Because Cards / July 31, 2021

Saying good-bye can be bitter sweet. Yesterday we closed on my mother-in-law’s house in Perryopolis, PA. It was sad because we have a lot of great memories from our visits with her, but we are excited for the new young couple who will be moving in.

We are also blessed to still have mom with us because when we imaged selling her house we pictured her with the Lord, so for now, we plan to make many more memories with her. So sorry, but since Perryopolis is about a 10 hour drive, I did not create a card today.

Supplies

Garden Green Cardstock- 8½ x 5½ (card base)
Cinnamon Cider Cardstock- 4-1/8 x 5-3/8, 3 x 5¾
Hand-Penned DSP- 4 x 5¼
Basic White Cardstock- 2½ x 3½, 3 ½ x 3½, 4 x 5¼ (inside)
Mint Macaron Cardstock- 2½ x 5¼
Hand-Penned Petals
Stitched So Sweetly Dies
Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder
Mint Macaron Ink
Garden Green Ink
Cinnamon Cider Ink
Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine
Stampin’ Seal Adhesive
Stampin’ Dimensionals

Directions

Score Garden Green cardstock in landscape position at 4¼. Fold and burnish to create card.
Layer Cinnamon Cider and Hand-Penned DSP panels to card front.
Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine to dry emboss Mint Macaron with Tasteful Textile Folder.
Crop two scalloped die edges in Cinnamon Cider cardstock and cut to measure 5 ½. Attach on both sides of the Mint Macaron panel and layer to the center of the card front.
Use the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine to crop white rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
Stamp greeting in Memento Black ink and attach to card front.
Stamp Hand-Penned flower in Memento Black Ink and stamp coordinating colors with stamps from bundle.
Crop the large flower using coordinating dies and attach to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Attach 4 x 5¼ white panel to the inside and decorate the inside panel as desired.

Oh Baby! Throw Back Thursday

We got some exciting news! My brother and sister in law that their only daughter is going to be a Mommy. How sweet is that? Congratulations Ally and Todd. Ally and Todd were married last October and they make the cutest couple.

I have a lot of baby stamps in my crafting collection and cannot wait to add the All For Baby Bundle on page 25 of the 2021-2022 annual catalog. Now I have a good excuse, right?

The card I created for Ally and Todd (hopefully they have received it in the mail by now) was created with a retired but favorite set, Something for Baby. We are so excited for Ally and Todd and cannot wait to celebrate the precious addition to our family.

Just for kicks and because after all it is Throw Back Thursday, I made a another baby card with the retired stamp set Moon Baby. No, I did not send Ally and Todd a second card. This one is clearly for a little girl, so for now, I hope you enjoy it. This would be super simple to create with any sweet baby set.

Celebrate Color and Contour with Gorgeous Grape

If you have ever moved or helped someone move then you know how quickly things accumulate. Recently we had to sell my mother-in-laws home and while she is no longer able to live alone, she is still with us. Praise God for that. I love to rearrange and am constantly re-organizing my crafting area, but that does not necessarily mean I purge. Maybe that is why I can’t always find things. LOL

My card today is a celebration of all the wonderful memories we have shared with Mom over the years. I began with a Gorgeous Grape card base and used the Color and Contour Bundle.

Cutting Measurements

All Measurement=inches CS=Cardstock DSP=Designer Series Paper Landscape Position=Long side Portrait Position=short side

Supplies

Gorgeous Grape Cardstock- 8½ x 5½ (card base), 4 x 5¼, 2-7/8 x 7/8
Basic Black Cardstock- 4 x 5¼
Basic White Cardstock- 3-3/8 x 4¾ , 4x 5¼
Color and Contour Bundle
Create With Friends Stamp Set
Black Embossing Powder
VersaMark Ink
Heat Tool
Stazon Jet Black Ink
Water Painters
Gorgeous Grape Ink
Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine
Stampin’ Seal Adhesive

Directions

Score Gorgeous Grape cardstock in landscape position at 4¼. Fold and burnish to create card.
Layer the black panel to card front.
Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine and the Color and Contour dies to crop a fancy Gorgeous Grape rectangle and layer on card front.
Randomly stamp the open flower with Stazon Jet Black ink on smaller white panel.
Use Water Painters and Gorgeous Grape ink to add color to one flower.
Stamp greeting on Gorgeous Grape strip with VersaMark, apply embossing powder and use the heat tool to set.
Decorate the inside panel as desired.
