Happy Birthday

A Well Said-Art Gallery Kind of Birthday!

I love it when things come together and todays cards features three awesome sets that go perfectly together. The florals for the Art Gallery Bundle are the perfect card front for a special birthday card. The pop of black wording from the Well Said bundle makes an ideal card for anyone, but especially for someone who loves blue and flowers.

NOTE: The black outline around the image is for easy viewing only and is not actually part of the card.
  • Begin with a Basic White card base that measures 5½ x 8½. In landscape position, (aka the long side) score at 4¼.  Fold and burnish.  This will create a card base.
  • Cut a 4 x 5¼” piece of Pacific Point cardstock and use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine dry emboss it with the new Painted Texture 3-D embossing folder and attach to the card front.
  • Add a ½ x 4” strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock across the lower section of the Pacific Point panel.
  • Stamp the large flower bundle in Mossy Meadow ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut out using the coordinating dies from the Art Gallery Bundle. Remove the flowers and add the greenery to the card front.
  • Stamp the large again in Pacific Point ink and cut out using the dies and snip off the blue flowers to add to the greenery.
  • Next cut the Happy Birthday greeting from the Well Written dies in Basic Black cardstock and glue to the card front.

Now I know there was a little fussy cutting on this project, but it is worth it right? I am sure when you create cards using this set you will be inspired to send them to everyone you know. I am actually sending mine off tomorrow. My mother-in-law is turning 89 on Saturday! YIKES! My birthday may be coming up, but she still has a few year on me! LOL

Thanks for stopping by!
Until next time, be blessed, Renae

Well Suited!

If you are like me and struggle creating manly looking cards, then you are going to love the new Well Suited Suite. It has everything you need to create that perfect card for the men in your life. Fun fact, the paper inspiration was actually created from a real tie collection from one of the employees at Stampin’ UP!

Today’s card was part of a make and take from a virtual stamping event and was created by fellow demonstrator Sally Nusbaum. Thanks Sally!!!

This second card was also included in the virtual make and take, but I changed up the original card just a bit. This one was created for a woman and the jewel bling to create the necklace was made using the Opal Rounds from the Sand and Sea Suite pictured on page 41 of the January thru June 2021 catalog.

The “Happy Birthday” greeting is stamped in Rococo Rose ink and punched out using the Double Oval Punch.

I hope you enjoy working with this suite and create many wonderful manly cards!

Happy Birthday With Sprinkles on Top!

This fun card features the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle and was inspired by my friend and fellow demonstrator Sally Nusbaum. Thanks Sally!! I know that I posted an ice cream card yesterday, but I just couldn’t resist. I love this set and the Ice Cream sprinkles are so much.

With Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay ink, it just makes me think happy!

  • Begin with a Bermuda Bay card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½”.  In landscape position, (aka along the 8½” side) score at 4 ¼”.  Fold and burnish.
  • Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock that measures 3 ¾ x 5 and a piece of Basic Black that measures 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.  Stamp Happy Birthday in Bermuda Bay ink to the top of the white cardstock and attach it to the black panel.
  • Cut a 1 x 3¾” strip of Ice Cream Corner Designer Series and a 1 ½ x 3 ¾” strip of Bermuda Bay.
  • Tear a small strip of the Bermuda Bay and layer it on top of the larger torn strip.  Layer the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series strip to the Bermuda Bay and attach to the bottom of the white panel.
  • Use the Ice Cream Builder punch to punch to cones from a 1 ½ x 4” piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock. Stamp the waffle design on both cones using Early Espresso ink. Attach the cones to the front of the card base.
  • Stamp and punch two scoops from some Basic White cardstock, one in Bermuda Bay and one in Melon Mambo ink. Stamp some dots using Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo ink around the cones and attach the scoops.
  • Use some liquid glue to add the Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles to each scoop.
  • For the inside, cut a 3 ¾ x 5” piece of White cardstock and attach to the inside panel.
  • Stamp the greetings from the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle in Bermuda Bay ink.  Add some sprinkles using the dot stamp and Melon Mambo ink.

Sweet Ice Cream Birthdays!

I know it is really cold outside in St. Louis, but anytime is a good time for Ice Cream and the Sweet Ice Cream Suite makes creating fun cards super easy. I love this paper and actually had the opportunity to meet the designer of this suite.

The meeting was of course via ZOOM, but the young designer, Kaitlyn Zumbach, was just too cute. She is also the designer of one of my other favorite sets in the annual catalog, Forever Fern and the beautiful Forever Greenery Designer Series paper pack that coordinates with that set. Thanks Kaitlyn, you are crazy talented!

  • Begin with a Blackberry Bliss card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½”.  In landscape position, (aka along the 8½” side) score at 4 ¼”.  Fold and burnish to create your card.
  • From the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper pack choose your favorite designs and cut one 2 x 5 ¼” piece, one 2 x 3” piece and one 2 1/8 x 2 1/8” piece.  Attach these pieces to the front of the card base.
  • Use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine, the Layering Ovals and the Stitched Shapes to crop two ovals, one from Blackberry Bliss cardstock and one from Basic White cardstock. Layer together with liquid glue and attach to the front of the card base.
  • Use the Ice Cream Builder Punch and the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper to punch out two cones and several scoops and attach these to the center of the white oval.
  • Stamp Happy Birthday in Memento Black ink on a 1 x 3 ¼” piece of white cardstock.  Layer it to a 3 ½ x 1 1/8” piece of Old Olive cardstock. Add the greeting to a 3 5/8 x 1 ¼” piece of Blackberry Bliss and add to the front of the card under the Ice cream cone image.
  • For the inside, cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of White cardstock and attach to the inside panel.
  • Stamp the greetings from the Sweet Ice Cream Bundle in Blackberry Bliss ink.  Add some sprinkles with Blackberry Bliss  and Old Olive ink.

Darling Donkeys Birthday Bonanza

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team created “Birthday Bonanza” projects to inspire you to make for all of your family and friends. We hope you enjoy and are inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments because we all love hearing from you! At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Today’s card features a Z-Fold card using the Darling Donkey’s Sale-A-Bration set. I created a similar version for my January stamp camp. Z-fold cards are so fun and easy too! I hope you enjoy hopping along with us today.

  • Begin with a Cherry Cobbler card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½”.  In landscape position, score at 4 ¼” and 2 1/8”.  The first score will fold your card in half, Fold the second score back onto itself to create the Z-Fold.  That’s all there is to it!
  • Cut two strips of your favorite Designer series paper 1 ¾ x 5 ¼”.  Layer these on the 2 inch panels.
  • Next cut two coordinating rectangles from the Stitched so Sweetly Dies, the larger one is cut using Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the smaller one with Basic White.
  • Stamp one of the Darling Donkeys on the White cardstock and color with watercolor pencils and layer this on the Cherry Cobbler rectangle.
  • Stamp “Hey There Friend” in Cherry Cobbler ink on Basic White cardstock and cut out using the paper snips and put it up on the corner of the donkey with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Next attach the Donkey rectangle to the front of the Z-fold 2” panel making sure to only apply adhesive to the left side.

Now let’s create the inside-

  • Cut a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of White cardstock and layer on the inside.
  • Stamp Happy Birthday at the bottom of this white layer and add a ¼ x 4” strip of Cherry Cobbler just above the greeting.
  • Stamp two of the other Donkeys on white cardstock, color with watercolor pencils and fussy cut out. If you prefer, just stamp directly to the inside white cardstock panel and color. Using the brown watercolor pencil create a ground under the donkeys.
  • Stamp you’re the best in Memento Black ink and Hee Haw in Cherry Cobbler on some Basic White cardstock and cut out with the paper snips.  If you don’t want the added dimension or if you don’t enjoy fussy cutting, simply stamp the words directly to the inside cardstock.

Z-Fold cards are so fun and while they look complicated, they really are simple, just one additional score line and you have it. I hope you enjoy all the wonderful cards made by my very creative teammates.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on March 10th when our theme will be “Cute Critters” where the design team will be sharing projects that will feature critters of all sorts to inspire you. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.

In Bloom Birthday Celebration!

I just love the stitched flowers in the In Bloom Bundle. And yes, I know I probably have a ton of flower stamps and really didn’t need another one, but I could not resist these stitched dies.

I do love flowers, but since I do not have a green thumb, I decided this bundle was worth it because the flowers will live forever!

  • Begin with a Basic White card base that measures 5 ½ x 8 ½”, score at 4 ¼”.
  • Randomly stamp flower, big and small all over the front, use some leaves and some accent dots to create a designer series paper look. I used Rococo Rose, Pretty Peacock and Mossy Meadow.
  • Cut a 3 ¼ x 5” piece of Basic White cardstock and use the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine to dry emboss it with the Meadow Moments embossing folder.  I used the one with the butterflies.
  • Use the flower and leaf dies from the In Bloom Bundle to cut a flower out of Pretty Peacock and Rococo Rose cardstock. The leaves are cut using Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • Layer a big and little flower w/leaves to the top left of the embossed white cardstock.
  • Stamp the Happy Birthday greeting from Sweet Strawberry in Pretty Peacock ink on some Basic white cardstock and then cut it out using the frame die in the bundle.
  • Add a small Rococo Rose flower and a few leaves to the corner of the greeting and pop it up on the cardstock with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Isn’t amazing that just stamping these flowers creates a beautiful designer series paper look. I am sure there are a plethora of other stamps in my collection that will create this same effect. Sometimes the simplest things make a card beautiful.

I encourage you to be creative with your stamp collection and create your own designer series paper. Don’t forget if you want to add the In Bloom Bundle to your stamping toys, you still have time this month to earn FREE Sale-a-Bration sets!

Simply Simple Sweet Ice Cream

Sometimes it is good to just take a step back from all my stamping toys and create something simply beautiful using just a handful of supplies.

Sweet Ice Cream Trio

Today my friends we have some serious business to discuss, that’s right, sweet ice cream. One of the things that made me fall in love with ice cream is its creamy texture that melts in my mouth. I love all flavors and all kinds, Baskin Robins, Maggie Moo’s, Ben and Jerry, you name it.

After my daughter returned from a visit to Rome, Italy she wanted us all to experience Gelato. So we made a trip to Gelato Di Riso on the Hill in St. Louis, MO.

It was absolutely delicious, but I have to admit I am still an all out ice cream cone fan! So of’ course I could not pass up the New Sweet Ice Cream suite in the JJ2021 Spring mini catalog and so here is today’s card.

  • Begin with a Flirty Flamingo card base 5 ½ x 8 ½”. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
  • Add a 4 x 5 ¼” Basic Black layer to the card front.
  • On a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock stamp the ice cream cone in Cinnamon Cider ink, adding the waffle stamp in Early Espresso to each cone, but out using the Ice Cream Builder punch.
  • On another scrap of Basic White cardstock stamp three ice cream scoops, one in Flirty Flamingo, one in Mango Melody and one in Mint Macroon.  Punch out using the Ice Cream Builder Punch.
  • On a 3 7/8 x 5 1/8” piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp Happy Birthday in Memento Black in in the lower center of the card.
  • Add the three ice cones in a trio above the greeting.  Before attaching the scoops, stamp the dotted stamp in each color behind the scoop area, then attached the scoops to the cone.

For the inside of the card, add a 4 x 5 ¼” piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp the greeting. Add some of the dotted sprinkles in colors to match the ice cream scoops.

All the supplies needed to make this sweet ice cream card are listed below. Spend $50 and earn FREE product, now that is sweet.

I highly recommend scooping up some of your favorite ice cream while you shop! Don’t forget to use the Host code: ZDHDYH2D

Sweet Ice Cream Birthday-You’re so cool!

Birthday can be so fun, even when you are getting older and especially if you are celebrating with ice cream! I don’t eat ice cream very often, but when I do it usually has come kind of chocolate in it.

Fun fact: When I was 16 years old I worked at Bresler’s Ice Cream shop. It was very similar to a Baskin Robins and was located inside the mall, which was perfect for any teenager. The best part about working there was always being busy, too busy to gain any weight from eating ice cream. That may not be the case these days! LOL

So today’s card was inspired by a Sketch Challenge from one of my Stampin’ Up! uplines Mary Fish. I used the New Sweet Ice Cream bundle in the JJ2021 Spring mini catalog.

It is part of the Ice Cream Corner Suite Collection. A suite collection is a variety of related items that Stampin’ Up! coordinates for you, making it even easier to create beautiful things! The Suite collection is only $56 and entitles you to a FREE Sale-A-Bration set, but hurry Sale-a-Bration ends at the end of February!

  • Begin with a Basic White card base 5 ½ x 8 ½. Score in landscape position at 4 ¼”.
  • Cut another layer of white that measures 4 x 5 ¼” and using the sketch challenge below ½” strips of cardstock to create the diagonal design.  I used Rococo Rose, Highland Heather and Seaside Spray.
  • Using a few pieces of scrap basic white cardstock, I stamped and punched out the ice cream cone, adding the waffle texture with Early Espresso ink.
  • I stamped the Happy Birthday and You’re so Cool sentiment in Memento Black ink.
  • Finally I added some of those sweet Pastel Pearls from the Hydrangea Hill Suite Collection in the JJ2021 Spring catalog.

Here is Mary’s sketch challenge! Maybe it will inspire you to create a card and if you do of’ course I would love to see it. Feel free to email it to me or share it with me on my Facebook page, #SketchChallenge#12!
Thanks Mary!

I also decorated the inside of my card with a few sweet ice cream cones. The cones are stamped in Cinnamon Cider directly to the inside cards. The Rococo Rose ice cream is also stamped direct to paper, but the Gorgeous Grape is stamped and punched out with the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch that is part of the bundle.

I stamped the sentiment in Memento black ink and the sprinkles in Cinnamon Cider.

I hope you will stop back tomorrow for some more sweet cards ideas and be sure to mark your calendars for this Wednesday January 20th, because it is time for the Inking Royal Blog Hop and we have some very fun project ideas for you!
