Thank You

Two Things-Favorite Things Friday!

So today, I thought I would share with you two favorite things and although they are totally unrelated, they are still favorite things!

First, I am just loving the new Cane Weave embossing folder. It adds such great texture to any card. I am using it today in combination with the Two Tone Flora stamp set. My card is created with Highland Heather cardstock and the images are stamped with Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape inks.

This embossing folder is featured in the new Spring mini catalog.

Cane Weave 3-D Embossing folder

My second favorite thing is teaching a monthly class at my local nursing home, Mother of Good Counsel Home and here is just one of the cards they will be making today. I began with a Real Red card base.

The black checked strip was created using the Buffalo Check Background stamp which is sadly now retired. Yes, it was a favorite and as you can see I am still using it. I do tend to use retired products when working with my friends from Mother of Good Counsel because we all loved our retired things and it just feels good to keep using them.

The large hearts and the greeting are current products and available in the 2022-2023 annual catalog, but don’t go looking for the small hearts, they are long gone, but you can always use the new Country Bouquet Punch.

Big Hooray and Two Tone Flora

And now that we are into February it is good to know that I am keeping my New Year’s stamping promises. One to use more Stampin’ Up! In-Colors and two, to feature more products from the 2022-2023 annual catalog. I used the Starry Sky ink for the flower and the greeting. To create a softer/lighter image for the solid flower, simply stamp off on some scrap paper before adding image to your white panel.

My card base is Starry Sky CS and I added a white panel to the card front before adding a layer of the Sun Prints DSP. Layering is such a fun way to create a clean and simple card.

Although the new In-Color, Starry Night, is the only ink I used, my card today also features the Two Toned Flora from the spring mini catalog, and two products from the annual catalog, the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper pack and the Big Hooray stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. I am really loving how super easy it is to create elegant cards using the Two Tone Flora Bundle! I hope you create and share something beautiful today! Happy Stamping!

Honeybee Home Bundle

I hope you all had a great holiday. I was a bit under the weather the past few weeks, and am tying to get my crafting mojo back. Nothing like some seasonal allergies in the dead of winter to make a body lazy. Today I am featuring the Honeybee Home Bundle from the annual catalog. Yes, I am seriously trying to keep my New Year’s promise to feature more annual catalog sets! Like all New Year’s Resolutions, it is pretty early so I am going to do my best to stay faithful to posting at least 2 cards a month that feature the annual catalog.

Our Honeybee Home Bundle is such a dainty set, so I decided to pair it with the Dainty Flowers Designers Series Paper. This is one of the paper packs that you can earn free this month. If you don’t already have this amazing bundle, add it to your cart today.

#blessedbycards

I love how this designer paper pack has great flowers for that stand alone card, as well as, some fun colored designs for creating cards like the one today.

Nestled Friends-Favorite Things Friday!

I am really going to make an effort this month to feature more of our In-Colors. We have so many fabulous colors, sometimes I forget about the In-Colors. Today’s card was created using Tahitian Tide. I sponged some of the color around the greeting and attached it to my card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sweet set is the Nestled Friends Bundle from the January-April mini catalog. If you are a bird lover, this set is for you and I think you are really going to love the detailed dies for the birds nest. I colored my bird, nest and branches using watercolor pencisl

The eggs are cut using the dies in the bundle from Balmy Blue because I thought the Tahitian Tide was a bit too bright for a robin’s egg. Don’t forget you can use the Blender Pens to blend your coloring!

Project Measurements

  • Tahitian Tide CS- 5½ x 8½ (card base), 3 x 4
  • Basic White CS: 4 x 5¼ -(3), 1 x 2½
  • Balmy Blue CS: 1 x 3

Inking Royalty Blog Hop-Thanks!

Thanks Brian King!

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s November Blog Hop! November is a time of gratitude and thanksgiving, and we’ve made projects that say “thanks!” to special people in our lives. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

#blessedbycards

I used the color combinations, Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry inspired by Brian King. Thanks Brian, you really are the King of color combos! I choose the Fond of Autumn Bundle, because I really do love Fall. The Crushed Curry panel is dry embossed using the new Leaf Fall 3-D embossing folder and the leaf arrangement is colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers.

I used the Stampin’ Cut n Emboss machine to crop to array of leaf images and arranged them together. TIP: I did use my Paper Snips to cut away some of the images on one of the fall florals so they would fit together and accent the acorns. The greeting is from Very Best Occasions and is cropped with the banner from Stylish Shapes Dies.

With Thanksgiving being only 8 days away, there is so much to be thankful for and today’s blog hop is a perfect way to celebrate gratitude! So I thought I would share one more “Thanks” card with you. This is the card I created for my November card class for the residents at Mother of Good Counsel Nursing. I am so thankful to these men and women who challenge themselves monthly to be creative.

#blessedbycards

I used the Hello Harvest Bundle and again the Leaf Fall embossing folder. Although this greeting is fantastic, it is retired. I love pulling out some oldie but goodie retired stamps for my friends the nursing home.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Sheryl  Sharp at Sharp Notes by Sheryl. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group and you don’t want to miss it

You are Wonderful-Favorite Things Friday

I am excited to share with you one of my favorite things, a clean and simple cards. I love simple cards that come together quickly. Today’s card was created with the Happiness Abounds Bundle and the coordinating designer series paper. I cut the designer series on the diagonal and used my paper snips to cut a few flowers to add near the greeting.

Begin with a gorgeous grape card base and Basic White CS to the front. Next add a layer of the designer series paper on the diagonal and stamp greeting in Memento Black ink. Add the cut flowers and you are all finished. Such a simple, yet elegant cards.
