Perfect Sentiment Borders-Make It Monday #101

Create 9 different card designs with perfect borders every time. In today’s video, I will share different cutting measurements to create a variety of perfect borders around your sentiments or stamped images. This super simple technique will add a whole new dimension to your cards, especially if you are making your greeting the focal point.

I hope this fun technique of using 3 basic borders and minimal supplies will make your card creating easier. In all of my samples, I used the same greeting, but this technique will work for any stamped image you want to make the focal point of your card. Add some bling and really step it up! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Clear embossing Technique-Layered Stripes!

Today I have a super fun technique for you and the Layered Stripes stamp in the mini catalog is the perfect stamp to show off this technique. All you need is some clear embossing powder, some versa mark ink, a heat tool and some of your favorite colors. I chose the Polished Pink In-Color for my card base and some stamping, some Bermuda Bay cardstock (4 x 5¼) ink, some Daffodil Delight and Memento Black Inks and of course some Basic White cardstock (3 ¾ x 5) and some scraps.

#blessedbycards

I first inked my Layered Stripes stamp with VersaMark and stamped it on some Basic White cardstock (3 ¾ x 5). Cover it will clear embossing powder and shake off the excess. Then apply heat using the heat tool and you will have a glossy finish. Next take a sponge dauber and some of your favorite colors and apply ink to the embossed panel. It is like magic.

Layer the Bermuda Bay and the Layered Stripes panel to the card front. I used the Stamparatus to stamp the greeting from Biggest Wish stamp set on some Basic White cardstock scraps and then cut them down and layered them on the front of my card.

This really is a fun technique and like I said this Layered Stripes stamp is just perfect. I love the vibrant colors. I hope you are inspired to try this technique. Have fun…..as always Happy Stamping!

Winter’s Night Sponging Technique-Make It Monday #99

Hey all it is time for another Make it Monday tutorial and today I am excited to share a sponging technique that you can use to create a Winter’s Night background scene. I know we are getting close to spring, but it is still technically the winter season. Although there is no snow here in St. Louis, the nights are still cold.

I am not sure about you, but I love a cold, clear winter’s night, especially if I am in my hot tub! Today’s technique is super simple and you can create your scene using our Blending Brushes or some stamping sponges. Sponge daubers will also work, but I am more proficient using sponges.

I hope you will try this technique. Leave me a comment if you do, I would love to hear what you think. Join me next week for another Make It Monday tutorial.

Here is a closer look!
